There are three main RCI awards: Gold Crown, Silver Crown, and the Hospitality Award, along with the Standard Resort grading for newer or developing resorts.

Guest feedback plays a major role in the process. Through RCI Member Comment Cards, guests rate five key areas: check-in and check-out, hospitality, resort maintenance, unit maintenance, and unit housekeeping. These scores are reviewed over a full 12-month period to ensure consistency and fairness.
RCI also considers the resort itself, including amenities, guest services, unit features, kitchen facilities, housekeeping standards, and the overall presentation of the property.
This means Gold Crown status reflects the full holiday experience, not just one part of it.
